Abstract:
The IT industry of Pakistan is growing at a very fast pace. According to latest statistics and reports released by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (also abbreviated as MoIT&T), Pakistan has caught up with the fast paced and innovative global information technology industry at a growth rate of 97.34% (specifically in the export of IT services) over the course of past five years. In fact, according to the recent claims and projections submitted by the ministry in the National Assembly of Pakistan, it is estimated that the IT industry and export of IT services will increase by 271% over the course of next 5 years (Source: The Nation). This is believed to bring in an additional revenue of US$ 3.77 billion. With the current rate of growth and advancements in the IT industry, it is expected that Pakistan will meet its developmental goals very soon with respect to its IT infrastructure.
