Abstract

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is a government-established entity that was started in the year 1961 to enhance the national source of energy independence. Originally a state-owned exploration company, OGDCL has become a cornerstone of Pakistan’s petroleum industry, discovering key fields such as Sari Singh and Uch gas, reducing reliance on imports. Over time, the company expanded into production, logistics, and technology-driven operations, currently managing over 50 exploration blocks and multiple large-scale production sites, making it a pillar of the country’s energy security and sustainable development. Vision: Become one of the most successful, multifunctional exploration and production companies known in terms of innovation, efficiency, and sustainable development. Mission: To increase the level of domestic and international oil and gas production by implementing the latest technology, strategic alliances and proper management practices. Another area of concern of OGDCL is to constantly match the expectations of its stakeholders through the implementation of the modern tools, ethics and sustainability-oriented strategies that enhances the economic and social stability in the long term.
