| dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, Educational institutions are concerned about regularity of student attendance. Mainly there are two conventional methods of marking attendance which are calling out the roll call or by taking student’s name and enrollment on a paper. Hence there is a requirement of computer- based student attendance management system which will not only assist the faculty but also the students by taking this process of taking attendance towards the automation. Biometric face recognition is used everywhere in the world. It is an advanced automated, and sensible identification system that can identify a person by facial features. It uses a digital camera to capture the image of the face, a computer for processing and analysis, and an output for displaying the identification result. Our project (Facial recognition-based attendance system) aims to eliminate the manual methods of taking attendance by moving the process towards automation with the help of facial recognition technology. We will develop program in a manner that it takes pictures from digital camera and identify people present saves in a picture using facial recognition technology and mark their attendance. The problem this project solves is elimination of old and outdated manual methods of taking attendance, usage of latest technology to help faculty, complete process is moved towards automation which time and energy of both students and faculty.lt is typically used in settings such as offices, schools, or events where attendance needs to be accurately recorded. The system works by using cameras and software to scan faces and match them to pre-registered images, allowing for quick and efficient attendance tracking without the need for manual signatures or physical IDs. The benefits of using a facial recognition attendance system include increased accuracy and efficiency, reduced fraud and errors, and a more convenient process for recording attendance. However, there are also privacy concerns associated with the use of facial recognition technology. | en_US |
