Abstract:
The world we live in is continuously evolving and rendering obsolete things that fail to pace up to the changes initiated as a result of this evolution. Not so long ago the idea of Information Technology was presented and since its inception it has been a focal point for corporations of all shapes and sizes and has been debated upon ever since.
In an increasingly competitive environment there are not many opportunities to differentiate ones goods and services from others. But IT have just given this a boost by opening up newer and much refined ways of achieving much more with less effort and resource utilization.
For Pakistan and entities operating in Pakistan things cannot be any different. Though we are somewhat behind the world in this race but we are still running none the less. There are many new endeavors under way by both public and private sector thrusting us forward. Slowly but gradually we to are experiencing a quantum shift away from traditional ways of doing business.
Educational institutes cannot alienate themselves from the changes happening around them and are also just starting to play there due share in the transition process. Being a nurturing ground for new ideas it is of immense importance to have them facilitated in whatever way possible so that the change is seamless manner. In an effort to do the following literature has been presented with some possible solutions to initiate the process of incorporation of IT in the educational system and proving the stakeholders i.e. the management, faculty and the students with fast, reliable and relevant information, facilitating them in the decision making process.
The solution proposed is in the light of a questioner floated online to get feedback on what they are looking for in this new system and in which specific way do they require to be facilitated. The outcome from this activity resulted in a viable set of user friendly systems ensuring the information requirements of the stakeholders are met.
