| dc.description.abstract | 1.1 Background This research thesis is based on an investigation of different factors in context of training and development on Bank Al Habib Ltd Islamabad branch. The researcher aims to highlight those factors which play a vital role in organisational growth and employee development. The main focus of this research is comprised on training and development. 1.2 Problem Statement What are the factors negatively effecting Training and Development in the Banking Sector? 1.3 Banking Sector in Pakistan The formal banking system in Pakistan was developed when SBP (State Bank of Pakistan) was inaugurated on 1st July, 1948. At that stage it was a huge responsibility on SBP to formulate such platform through which commercial banks could start their operations; thus the prominence rise of commercial banks in Pakistan initiated from the start of this era. 1.4 History of Bank AL Habib Ltd Bank Al Habib was formulated by Dawood Habib Group who has a huge track record in banking sector since 1920. They were founder member of Habib Bank Ltd which played a vital role in achieving financial and banking needs at the early stage of Pakistan and was nationalized among other banks on December 31, 1973 (BAHL, 2009).
