dc.description.abstract The world is changing at a very fast pace. To compete with the world Pakistan has to bring a change in its long held beliefs and traditions. For the progress of nation women have to work equally with men. For this reason they have to go out of homes. In society like Pakistan which is male dominant it is quite difficult for females to travel to their destination in public transport. This study has tried to throw some light on the issues that are faced by women in Pakistan while traveling in different modes of public transport. The solution for these problems is supposed to be all female taxi and the strings attached to it are also discussed. All female taxi is not a new to the world idea. It is being practiced is different countries of the world. It will be new only to the Pakistani society. Women, whether they are house wife, working women or students, Pakistani or foreigners face different problems like harassment while traveling. Most of the times they do not register complaints of such incidents due to different religious and social reasons. To avoid going through this torture women sometime refrain from traveling. This not only affect their social life but it also stands as the hurdle in the constructive role women can play in nation building and progress of the country. The public transport is used my majority of the females because in Pakistan mostly men are supposed to be the drivers and thus women have to use public transport. Besides that there is a majority of women who can not afford privet vehicles for traveling. The middle and lower middle class uses public transport more frequently than upper class because they can afford cars and chauffeurs. The study emphasis on the need of the taxi service that is solely dedicated to the female passengers so that they can feel safe in fulfilling their daily duties in safe peaceful manner. The issues that are discussed are backed by surveys and interviews. Because there is not so much information available on this topic in Pakistan so there is only reliance on primary data. The nature of the research for the most part is qualitative. But its is also noticeable that 90% females response positively towards this idea. This idea also supports in the economic development of the country by the empowerment of females. en_US
