Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose for this research is due to the reasoning that unlike standard inventory
models that are currently residing in the supply chain management, it creates backlogging and hence
the total stock on hand and on order excludes the backorders. This will describe the system state
that one has to use at all inventory levels of all ages and the outstanding orders in perishable
inventory systems. The supply chain in this regard is more complex and yet very efficient while
dealing with perishable items especially (dairy) milk and milk products in Pakistan.
Design: This thesis has been designed in a way by which we can find out impact of Consumer
demand and reduction of wastages of perishable products in dairy sector with overall perspective
and influence of perishability on inventory management of dairy products as well. The research
explains the control inventory system that needs to be implemented under the replenishment cycle
and alsoto analyze the best method for optimizing retail operation in organized retailed i.e.
specifically dairy markets.
Findings: This study finds impact of perishability that influences replenishment time rates on the
dairy product performance. The replenishment cycle is explained in terms of the per day to balance
demand i.e. milk replenishment time with support of the other replenishment factors linked to it
with other perishable goods which are the vegetables replenishment time, frozen replenishment
time, meat replenishment time, bakery replenishment time etc.
