| dc.description.abstract | Construction industries all over the world are booming, and on their way to aid the economic growth of the respective country. Just like any organization or industrial sector, human resource in construction sector is of immense importance, especially in developing countries like Pakistan. Pakistan has an increasing demand of housing need and manpower export for construction related projects. For this purpose it is essential that labourers in this area are provided with some sort of training. The nature of this training should be based more on practical work, than on theoretical learning. The study focuses on awareness among these labourers, their willingness to be trained and what should be done to make training available more feasible for them. The study was based on construction labour residing within Islamabad. Data for this research has been collected from both primary and secondary sources. Since the research was of qualitative nature in depth interviews were conducted for primary data collection. As for secondary data, journals, magazines, articles and books were referred to, which showed that there is a lack of focus on training construction labour in Pakistan. The research would understand the need for technical and vocational training from the perspective of labourers as well as the trainers and how it should be offered, so as to improve their performance and increase productivity. | en_US |
